Old Town Renovations, LLC is committed to making this website usable for all visitors, including people with disabilities. We want anyone to be able to browse our services, look through our project gallery, and request an estimate without running into unnecessary barriers.
Our Standard
We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the technical standard most commonly referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by accessibility law more broadly. That includes things like:
- Keyboard access to every interactive feature on the site, including our project gallery viewer
- Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
- Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds
- Descriptive alternative text on images
- Proper heading structure and page landmarks for screen reader navigation
- Support for reduced-motion preferences
We say "work to conform" deliberately — accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a single fix we can declare finished. No website can guarantee perfect accessibility for every person and every assistive technology in every situation, and we don't claim otherwise. What we can say is that this is real, ongoing work we take seriously, not a one-time checkbox.
Accessibility Preferences
Every page on this site includes an accessibility icon in the bottom-left corner. It opens a panel where you can increase text size, turn on a high-contrast display mode, reduce motion, underline links, and switch to a simplified font. These preferences are saved on your device and carry over as you browse the site. This panel is a convenience layer on top of the site's underlying accessibility work — it's not a substitute for it.
Ongoing Work
We periodically review the site ourselves, including manual testing with screen reading software, and we update it as we find things to improve. If you use assistive technology and notice something that doesn't work the way it should, we want to hear about it.
